Hi there! It's nice to e-meet you! My name is Simmy Sidhu, and I'm a motivated entrepreneur with a strong foundation in Biomedical Engineering. I hold a Bachelor of Engineering in Biomedical Engineering, complemented by a minor in Mathematical Science from the University of Guelph, and a Master of Engineering in Biomedical Engineering from Cornell University. My entrepreneurial journey is driven by a deep commitment to innovation and problem-solving. Digital Marketing Strategy
We want students to help us develop a digital marketing strategy to grow and engage our target market. We’d like to know how we can maximize different channels and what will work best for us. The main questions we’d like students to help us answer are the following: Where should advertising be targeted for the target demographic? How can the current or new social media channels be optimized (i.e. Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Tiktok)? Where can ads be placed to conform to the project budget and be maximally shown to the target audience (i.e. billboards, bus stops, etc.) What marketing should be used in different scenarios (i.e. the beverage description on the bottle itself, etc.)? We also want to better understand our target market and audience as well as the overall market so we can uniquely position ourselves within our industry. The research will include: Target market research Social media ad optimization Industry size and market potential Competitive landscape Strategic positioning of the brand (potential billboard locations, budgeting for strategic positioning, increasing brand presence for the target demographic) We will also need help creating promotional materials (i.e. flyers that will be distributed to the target demographic), ad campaign ideas, etc.
Beverage Startup Launch Strategy
Drastic Drinks Inc., a burgeoning beverage startup, is seeking to establish a strong market presence and drive early traction for its innovative drink offerings. The project involves conducting comprehensive literature research to understand current market trends and consumer preferences in the beverage industry. Learners will identify effective platforms for initial sales, focusing on both online and offline channels, and explore potential re-distributors to expand market reach. Additionally, the project requires the creation of engaging social media marketing content aimed at building brand awareness and connecting with target audiences. A well-structured posting schedule will be developed to ensure consistent and strategic online presence. This project provides an opportunity for learners to apply marketing and research skills acquired in the classroom to a real-world business scenario, enhancing their understanding of startup dynamics and digital marketing strategies.
Literature Research
Creating an innovative beverage requires extensive research. I have already paved the way with a great deal of research, but I am looking for some help. I would like to collaborate with students to support literature review by identifying relevant papers and documenting their basic information. Tasks include: Familiarizing themselves with the inclusion / exclusion criteria to determine which studies are relevant. Searching for relevant studies in databases using keywords and documenting the process. Screening the titles and abstracts of papers to determine their relevance to our project. Documenting relevant papers that can be included in our literature review, including information such as authors and date of publication. Reading the full texts of relevant papers and summarizing their results.
Product Launch Strategy
We need insights to help anticipate the ramp-up to commercialization and the best approach to go to market successfully with our product. Initial questions to brainstorm include, but are not limited to: 1. Where in the world is the best place to launch for early success? What is the total market size for this opportunity? What are some good launch ideas? 2. With whom should we partner on manufacturing, kitting, packaging, warehousing, and fulfillment? How complex is that and how much will it cost, realistically? 3. Who are our closest competitors and how do we differentiate ourselves? 4. How do we establish our brand: Build awareness, acquire customers, and defend any early success? We are looking to gain alternative perspectives on potential marketing tactics and better understand the current competitive market.
