Cloud-Based Database for the SGICRC (Southern Gulf Islands Community Resource Centre) Grant Hub

Project Objectives: Develop a cloud-based database for storing and managing information about grants and non-profits in the Southern Gulf Islands. The database will provide a user-friendly interface for public access to search for grants, register for workshops, and access resources. Additionally, it will support internal management of grant applications and interactions with other non-profits. Project Scope: Database Design and Implementation: Develop a scalable and secure cloud-based database. Include features for data entry, retrieval, and reporting. User Access and Search Functionalities: Implement search functionalities for public users to find grants and workshops. Develop a user-friendly interface for accessing and updating information. Grant Workshops and Rebate Hub Program: Store information on grant workshops and allow users to register. Provide access to recorded workshops and resources. Track application status for the Grant Rebate Hub Program. Interaction Management with Non-Profits: Manage interactions with other Southern Gulf Island non-profits. Include features for tracking and reporting on these interactions. Note: Implementation and maintenance must be within our organizational capacity.

Website Development

We need to update and revamp our existing websites. Our goals include expanding our reach ensuring we catch the attention of search engines and increase our organic search visibility. We want to drive more traffic to our websites to increase our ability to market and brand our programs and services. This includes making them properly optimized employing search engine optimization techniques. We want them to engage visitors, provide information that is logical and navigable, possibly able to convert visitors to donors, with a straight forward contact form, and that will strategically highlight our accomplishments and the most important features of our organizations in a way that convinces more people to get involved. We also need to ensure that the websites are easy to edit so that our team can consistently update people on what we are doing regarding your cause We would like to work with students to revamp two website that are easy to maintain while providing an appealing interface for users. This can be achieved through common site building tools such as Wix, Webflow, and WordPress. This will involve several different steps for the students, including: Researching different site-building tools and their associated advantages / disadvantages. Conducting a needs analysis to determine which platform is most suitable. Revamping or rebuilding a website, with our assistance in providing the content. Providing training on updating and maintaining the website. Bonus steps in the process would also include: Testing prototypes with customers and refining ideas with feedback.
