Project Examples

Requirements

Starting this August, UBC students will spend 20 hours each, applying a creative writing and storytelling approach to creating a podcast episode for your organization.

Based on your needs, goals, and messaging, students working in groups or individually will develop and record a short 5-6 minute podcast that you can use in your communications material.

Only a subset of the students in the course will be completing the real client project. You will be working with students who have opted into this special project, and are motivated to deliver a final project that makes an impact for your organization.

Project areas can include, but are not limited to:

  1. Collection of user stories - Students will interview your end user or client base and share their stories or testimonials in a narrative-style or interview format.
  2. Documentary podcast - Students will research your industry and organization to provide context and an overview on your goals and mission.
  3. Creative narrative - Students will create a fictional podcast that tells a story aligned with your organization's communication strategy.
