Student goals and capabilities

One or more master's-level social work students from the University of British Columbia's Okanagan campus are available to be your virtual interns, in a project- or virtual service-based experience. Students will engage in one or more projects or services of your choosing over the internship period, connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools.

Students are available for up to 450 hours of placement from May to August 2020.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, student placements will only occur virtually.

These project or service offerings are part of the field education experience, an agency-based course in which students apply, in supervised practice, the theoretical concepts, principles, values, and ethics taught in the classroom. In addition to the supervised learning of skills with individuals, families, and groups, students will be socialized to the identity of a professional social worker and the many roles that social workers occupy in agencies and in the community.
