Bring on students from the University of Lethbridge to be your virtual interns, in a project-based experience. Students will work on one or more projects of your choosing over the internship period, connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools.
Internships must be related to the student’s new media studies, in areas such as: web design, graphic design, social media, film and video productions, 3D animation, 3D modeling, game design, compositing and visual effects, data visualization, 3D fabrication, etc.
Students are required to complete a minimum of 300 hours of placement starting between September to December. Those hours can be divided into multiple placements/employers.
These students are looking for both paid and unpaid internships with a preference for paid experiences to help offset tuition costs. Please indicate in your project submission which you are able to offer.

Deliverables will vary depending on the scope of the internship. However, these deliverables must be discussed and agreed upon prior to the start of the internship.
Project Examples
Requirements
Students can complete a substantial project for your organization over the placement period. We suggest providing a starting project, but as the placement goes on there may be other duties or projects the student is asked to complete as well. Providing a central project creates structure for the internship, and gives the student (and company) a tangible goal.
Project activities must be related to the student's new media area of study, however the objective of the internship is also to:
- Provide students the opportunity to apply academic knowledge/skills
- Introduce students to employment possibilities
- Develop self-directed job search skills
- Provide challenging and relevant work experience
- Assist in making realistic and informed career choices
- Provide opportunities to build valuable contacts within the new media industry
- Assist in the transition from university to the workplace
