Data Dashboard - Adding a Real-Time Visual Backend for our Progressive Web app
Our company is building a gamified social app which utilizes real-world, tech-embedded products and product packaging paired with digital profiles to create an innovative loyalty system for brands and creators. Our development team has already built out a large portion of the web-app, and are looking to roll out a way for partner brands using the platform to see data on their users and how they interact using our NFC-chipped products as well as through connected social apps. We would like to have students work under our developers to implement this new Dashboard. This will involve several different steps for the students, including: -Familiarizing themselves with INTRFAC3 and what it does, as well as how we've built the application. -Understanding the Data we are able to collect, and the opportunity to participate with input and ideas on other data we could possibly collect from our system and users. -Researching possible technologies and tools/plugins that could help create the dashboard and aggregate the data inputs. -Working with our team and existing visual brand kit to design what the page will look like. -Selecting the best method to build, and developing the dashboard. -Working closely throughout the process with our back-end developers to ensure the dashboard collects and displays the correct data for each user. -Finally, ensuring things are organized and our team is equipped to continue to update and maintain the dashboard over time
Mobile Companion App - NFC/RFID Scanning Wearables for Loyalty and Customer Experience Activations
Our company is building a gamified, social app which utilizes real-world, tech-embedded products and product packaging paired with digital profiles to create an innovative loyalty system for brands and creators. Our development team has built out a large portion of the platform, which is a progressive web-app intended for browsers. One of the major features of INTRFAC3 is the ability for companies to embed NFC/RFID chips into wearables and product packaging, enabling those items to earn a customer rewards for their loyalty by tapping the chips. The chips interact with smartphones, and our progressive web app reads and collects data on each tap, rewarding taps with on-platform loyalty points and other things. However, browsers cannot directly read information off an NFC chip, nor prompt it. Therefore, our company would like to have students help us build a separate Mobile Application that our brand partners can use as a "POS system" during activations. The system will need to be able to prompt and react to unique data on NFC chips and pull information from the backend system that we've built for INTRFAC3--allowing companies to use this app to give person-specific loyalty rewards when someone taps their wearable to the device the app is on. We would like to have students work under our developers to build an MVP of this app. This will involve several different steps for the students, including: -Researching technologies/strategies being used for this type of application -Selecting the best technologies and methods for creating a real-time application. -Working with our team and existing brand kit to design and map out what the app will look like, and how it will function. -Building the app, and integrating the backend with our existing systems. -Ensuring our team has the knowledge necessary to continue to update and improve the app/add new features over time. "Students will be working directly under our lead software developer, who has over 20 years of experience in engineering and has worked for companies like apple, bank of america, and even the US military. Along with his mentorship, they'll be alongside our experienced UI/UX designer and front end devs, and will have an open line of communication through a designated channel where they'll be able to ask questions, work with our team and the other students to learn together and hopefully gain skills and confidence. We'll schedule regular meetings as necessary, at least weekly to ensure things are on track, and be open to discuss specific challenges any time they may need. By the end of the project, students should demonstrate: -Understanding of technologies currently used for Mobile applications -Understanding of NFC/RFID technology and how we use it in INTRFAC3 -The reasoning behind chosen technologies -Thorough understanding of our brand's visual kit and desired chat functionality
