Digital Content Creation

Positions available: up to 2 We would like students to help us with creating content that is aligned with our vision, mission, and sector. We will ensure the student has a clear understanding of what these elements are for our organization. I have just published a graphic novel about my fertility journey. The official launch event is February 24 but the official "in-store publication date" is March 2. I needs in three main areas: 1) create interesting, engaging, relevant digital content to promote the book to the general world on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and any other platform that would be relevant 2) find blogs, podcasts, newspapers, magazines, tv, and radio interview opportunities, and 3)reach out to clinics, counsellors, midwives, doulas, and other people in the health sector (both traditional and Western) who have (in)fertility as part of their practice to get them to buy the book for themselves and their clients. To accomplish this, we expect the student(s) will: Write blog articles, email newsletters/sequences and other content pieces on assigned topics Assist with a social media video launch to promote our organization Evaluate recent successful user-generated campaigns, preferably in our sector Identify media outlets that are most beneficial to share our story Ultimately, you will be working on content creation for our organization, including video, social media, and other collateral that we can use as go-to marketing tools. Book Publication: Phase 4 (Natural Sciences) FULL

Applied Research for Together We Stand

Together We Stand is a citizen-led grassroots organization in Prince George that represents over 1000 people who are housed, unhoused and precariously houses in Prince George. We work together to end stigma towards homeless citizens. Research Questions What factors have contributed towards homelessness in Prince George and what might we, as a City and as citizens do to end homelessness and the stigma directed towards homeless citizens? For example, depending on your program of study you might explore: If you are a political science student - How does the increased cost of housing and housing speculation contribute to homelessness? If you are a nutrition or health sciences student - How does poor nutrition contribute to homelessness? If you are a First Nations studies student - How does colonization and land treaties contribute to homelessness? If you are a Media Studies student - How does racism contribute to homelessness? The intern will create a digital library of books in Box.com to help students in India to learn English. This resource will be used as part of the English Learning Buddy Program, a student volunteer program that connects girls from low income families in India that are highly motivated to learn English with Canadian high school students. For example, Charlotte's Web, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Analysis The intern will categorize each of the twenty (20) selected books according to reading level - Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced Writing The intern will write reading comprehension questions for each of the selected twenty (20) books. The reading comprehension questions will be organized by chapter and will test students comprehension of the preceding chapter. The intern will create an Answer Key for the reading comprehension questions. The intern will create a list of ten (10) curated discussion topics to be used by tutors and students to practice their spoken English Skills. The discussion topics can be any topic that advances cultural understanding between students living in India and Canada. For example, students can discuss their favorite holidays and how they celebrate these holidays.

We have developed innovative programs while establishing and maintaining meaningful partnerships with various organizations. Project Scope: Project Description: This digital marketing project sheds light on the activities of the organization to raise awareness of the services that we provide to the community. Also, we will highlight issues such as gender/race equality, empowering women (through building life and work skills, networking), building community, supporting newcomer mothers, reducing isolation, violence prevention, etc. on our social media pages and website. The services offered by the organization and highlighted on our social media and website are designed to support women with diverse backgrounds, and lie in the areas of social integration, leadership quality development, violence prevention, and awareness, teaching basic English language training, employment readiness, individual counseling, health, and wellness. All participants have access to transportation and translation support during group activities. This is a great project for students to prove their digital marketing expertise, gain hands-on experiences, and build up their professional resumes.
