data collection quantitative research data analysis social justice search engine optimization analytics data management researchThis project’s goal is to conduct sophisticated research and communicate findings with the education, media, legal, and advocacy teams. Students will have the opportunity delve deep into topics of great importance in the social justice sphere while working closely with the various teams within the organization.
Interns will have the opportunity to learn about qualitative and quantitative research, data management, analysis, and reporting. Interns will likely be responsible for any combination of the following duties:
- Research and keep apprised of existing education, media, research, or other initiatives related to the issue or cause, and develop a tracker to stay updated on these initiatives.
- Contribute to team ideas for Search Engine Optimization (SEO) strategies and social media trends/analytics, including monitoring campaign performance and returns on ad purchases.
- Fact-check internal and public-facing data reports.
- Help identify reliable sources for primary data and updates on key indicators (such as: journalists on the ground, news sources, etc.).
- Help create user-friendly (and if possible, interactive) graphics to summarize data analytics.
- Help distribute data analytics results to various teams.
- Support the development of a public monthly summary report of data analysis results.
- Prepare literature reviews and conduct surveys and interviews to collect data and insights.
- Analyze research findings and synthesize them into actionable recommendations and reports.
- Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and visualizations to present findings to stakeholders.
We will provide interns with 5 hours of mentorship per team. Throughout mentorship, interns may highlight skills for professional development during their internship, and our team will work to provide interns with appropriate options. Interns may seek career advice, job shadowing and networking opportunities at their request. Meetings structured around each intern’s outlined goals will occur on a weekly basis and will continue throughout the duration of the internship. Students will also be provided with a dedicated supervisor for the entirety of their internship.

About the company
Canadians For Palestine is an organization made up of dedicated Canadians working to put an end to anti-Palestinian racism and islamophobia. Our mission is to create educational materials on the issue, provide legal assistance, lobby, and advocate for individuals subjected to racism and unfair treatment. The organization has 5 critical fronts: education, legal, media, political, and research, and has attracted over 7000 community members of all backgrounds to advocate with it under a unified strategy. Through peaceful advocacy, we aim to overcome anti-Palestinian racism and islamophobia by standing for justice, equity, and human rights that transcend borders and are not limited by nationality, religion, ethnicity, or bodies.
