The Starfish Canada is seeking an intern to create a three-part alternative forms of content series based on themes surrounding Canadian Women’s History Month. The goal of the series is to publish high-quality creative forms of content to diversify the types of content that we publish on The Starfish Canada’s Youth Journal.

The intern will work on a three-part alternative forms of content series based on themes circling Canadian Women’s History Month (October, 2022). The intern will be responsible for developing:

• Three poems:

- Between 100 to 500 words each.

- Reflection on the inspiration behind the poems 50 to 100 words each.

• Three photo journals:

- Between 250 to 500 words each.

- Five photos per photo journal.

• Two TikTok videos:

- Between 30 to 60 seconds each.

- Poetry reading, resources, local events, organizations to support

The Starfish Canada's Editorial Program Manager will be the main point of contact for communication on the submission process and any other questions regarding the Riipen Program. The Editor-in-Chief will be the main point of contact and support regarding the timeline, voice, angle, and creation of the pieces.

The intern will also have weekly check-ins with our Editor-in-Chief to stay organized, on track, and keep communication open. Our Editor-in-Chief will provide the intern with a timeline and schedule for deadlines for the first draft, final draft, and publication dates for all three pieces.

Our Editorial Leadership Team at The Starfish Canada is here to support the intern from day one of this internship with anything they need. Our main form of communication is through both email and our online Slack channel, Monday through Thursday, 9am to 4pm, EST/PST.
