Project 1

Team size- 10 students or flexible

Project time length: 7 weeks approx.

Project weekly schedule: TBD

Project daily schedule: TBD, 45 min- 1hr meeting will take place once per week. Dates TBD.

Scope

Researching and developing the best and easiest virtual working platforms for employers and employees’ interactions including Safe document sharing, Work monitoring systems, researching best online learning platforms for children (user friendly, app development possibilities, etc.).

SKILLS: communication, resiliency, teamwork, analytical capabilities, research, design.

Project Goals/Deliverables:

1. Research paper with the recommendation of the best/easiest virtual platform for collaboration

2. Research paper about the best online platform for children

Team Organization

Two teams of 5 people each assigned to each deliverable stated below. Each team will have a Project Manager who will interact with the BBYF’s Project Manager.

Timeframe

Target start date: November 1st or 2nd

End Date: December 15th

Communication

We will plan to communicate with our virtual interns using these communication tools: Riipen messaging, ZOOM, Email, phone/text, etc.

Mentorship and Supervision

Students will be supervised during their internship through Zoom and other online work sharing platforms, specifically during working hours. Students will be guided and mentored by our senior project manager along with our student Project Manager as well. They will have access to our Senior project manager Tasha, any time needed during business hours by phone/email and after business hours through email. Students will also have the option of connecting with their student project manager for support during the duration of the internship.

  • Skills addendum letter
  • Volunteer appreciation certificate,
  • BBYF Special Monument certificate

The Building Black Youth Foundation (B.B.Y.F.), is a not for profit children's organization and social enterprise, geared to providing children cultural based learning opportunities and educational support for Black/BIPOC(but not limited to) children/youth and families across Canada. B.B.Y.F. is starting with virtual Early Childhood Development programs, supports for families and learning opportunities specifically geared towards teaching an afrocentric uplifting curriculum, building self worth through learning ancestral and historical knowledge. Our mission at Building Black Youth Foundation(B.B.Y.F.), is to empower our Black/BIPOC(but not limited to) children/youth, help them build their self worth and self belief, through learning uplifting historical, cultural knowledge.
