The main goal for the project is to research and develop at least two new health indicators for the State of the Basin website. The new health indicators should provide valuable and relevant information to the public about the state of health in the basin region.


This will involve several different steps for the students, including:


- Researching existing health indicators and data related to the basin region.


- Identifying gaps or areas for improvement in the current health indicators.


- Developing at least two new health indicators that address the identified gaps or areas for improvement.


- Collaborating with the Interior Health Authority team to ensure the new health indicators align with their goals and objectives.


- Testing the new health indicators for accuracy and relevance.


Deliverables

By the end of the project, students should complete the following list of activities:


- Research report on existing health indicators and data related to the basin region.


- Proposal for at least two new health indicators, including a rationale for their development.


- Collaboration documentation with the Interior Health Authority team.


- Testing results and validation of the new health indicators.



Final deliverables:


- Detailed documentation of the new health indicators, including methodology, data sources, and potential impact.


- Presentation of the new health indicators to the Interior Health Authority team.


- Integration plan for the new health indicators into the State of the Basin website.


Mentorship

Student will be supported by members of Interior Health, including Dr. Sue Polluck, as well as the State of the Basin throughout their research and proposal process.
