Number of individual students required: Up to 2

HPCO is developing a Centre for Excellence (the Centre) with a goal of fostering excellence in hospice palliative care in Ontario. The Centre will house our existing programs and services for our members including: the hospice standards program; hospice accreditation; best practice guides; a quality & impact measurement platform; interest groups; and learning and training programs for hospice staff and volunteers. Additionally, we will explore opportunities to develop new programs and services for our individual and organizational members and to market our programs and services outside of Ontario.

We are looking for students to join our team to take on projects related to the development of new programs and services.

This project is to develop a feasibility study of proposed new program.

Position Qualifications:

  • Graduate level training in business, health administration or similar
  • Interest in health care, knowledge of hospice palliative care is an asset
  • Project management training or experience
  • Strong qualitative and quantitative analytic and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to work with cross functional teams and all management levels
  • Highly motivated and takes initiative, while holding oneself accountable
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated well-developed interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational, time management and office management skills

Mentorship

Students will report to the Director, Centre for Excellence and meet weekly 1:1. Students will also work directly with the staff team and meet with individuals on this team as required.
