Looking to elevate your organization, and bring it to the next level? Bring on learners from Elms College to be your learner-consultants, in a project-based experience. Learners will work on one main project over the experience of the semester, connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools.


Learners in this program/experience will integrate individual, social and environmental system perspectives of human behavior and mental processes. Using a project-based approach, learners will work collaboratively with community members and stakeholders through community-based field experience to define and identify methods for solving social problems utilizing interdisciplinary methods and approaches to community action and research.

Expected outcomes and deliverables

Deliverables are negotiable, and will seek to align the needs of the learners and the organization. 


Some final project deliverables might include: 

  1. A 10-15 minute presentation on key findings and recommendations
  2. A detailed report including their research, analysis, insights and recommendations

Project Examples

Requirements

Learners in a group of 6 will work with your company to identify your needs and provide actionable recommendations, based on their in-depth research and analysis.


Project activities that learners can complete may include, but are not limited to: 


  • Conducting a assessment of community needs with members of your community
  • Conduct an in-depth analysis of data from multiple sources
  • Defining social problems from the perspectives of community members and stakeholders
  • Identifying methods for solving social problems from the perspective of community strengths


Additional company criteria

Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:

Be available for a quick phone/virtual call with the instructor to initiate your relationship and confirm your scope is an appropriate fit for the experience.

Provide a dedicated contact person who is available for weekly/bi-weekly drop-ins to address learners’ questions as well as periodic messages over the duration of the project.

Provide an opportunity for learners to present their work and receive feedback.

Provide relevant information and/or data as needed for the project.
