This course includes a mix of undergraduate and graduate students from a range from science and engineering disciplines, including biomedical and systems engineering. Students will have a strong understanding of information systems and data standards in healthcare. Students will bring a systems perspective to projects and can contribute to any aspect of the data life cycle.

Expected outcomes and deliverables

Each interdisciplinary student team will work on projects for about 8 weeks (Oct. 1 to Dec. 14) and deliver agreed upon product(s) and a technical report.

Requirements

Student teams are equipped and capable of working on healthcare/biomedical projects related to data visualizations/dashboards, data analyses, data harmonization, survey design, human-/user-centered evaluation of digital products, ethical analyses, and scientific literature review.
